Dr. Lamar West

Lamar West has over thirty-five years of experience in the telecommunications industry.  Twenty-eight of those years were spent at Scientific-Atlanta (Cisco Systems) where Dr. West was a Principal Engineer.  During that time he worked on all phases of CATV / HFC technology, including headend, RF outside plant (OSP), set-top terminals, fiber optics and satellite earth stations.

More recently Dr. West has been involved with the Standards and Practices activities of the Society of Cable Telecommunication Engineers / International Society of Broadband Experts (SCTE/ISBE).  He has also authored training content and acted as an instructor for the SCTE/ISBE. 

Dr West has participated in numerous conferences and symposia, with an emphasis on those concerning access networks and upstream issues.

Dr. West holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
